What can SCSS Advocates offer?

SCSS Advocates are Doctors and Dentists with experience in the field of pastoral care for their colleagues. Whether their background is as a member of the LMC Pastoral Group ,the LDC Pastoral Officers, or the PCT, their priority is to support a colleague who is experiencing professional difficulties whatever their nature. These might relate to burnout, work-related stress, inter-personal difficulties or anything causing concern or difficulty as we meet the daily challenges of primary care.

You can choose 'your' Advocate who will receive any enquiries (by phone, email or anonymously through this website) in a non-judgmental way and will respond in a short timescale. If a particular person is away on leave, you will be notified.

They can help you to make the best use of the resources in the Safe House website and will be glad to receive any feedback you have about this.

They will help you to identify any other support resources you need, for example the best way to use the Staff Occupational Health provision or how to access mentoring services if you wish to do this.
